Persian singer, Mahasti, has passed away due to colon cancer that she has been dealing with for four years. Mahasti (born Khadijeh Dadehbala) was the younger sister of Hayedeh. She became one of the few women from Iran who made a great career in the music industry and one of her most famous songs is "Sepideh Dam". She had hoped her announcement about her cancer would raise awareness within the Iranian community regarding cancer and the significance of constant physical examinations.
