Iranian-Canadian Samantha Tajik was crowned the 57th annual Miss Universe Canada on Monday April 28 in downtown Toronto. Tajik will represent Canada at the July 14 Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam.

Sahar Biniaz, another contestant who was born in India and grew up in Iran, won the 1st runner up title. Also, Canadian-Iranian Sahra Khoshnavazi was among the top 20 contestants. While Pauline Ranjbar tied for the title of Miss Congeniality.
